This is an innovative one-year training program designed for visually impaired adults between the age group of 18 to 35 years, who have either missed school education or are marginally educated to acquire a variety of skills to become useful workers for industry or become self-employed.
Inspired by Gandhiji’s concept of Buniyadi Shiksha, the range of vocational skills taught includes book-binding and paper-craft, chair-caning, candle-making, working on light machines, packaging, sewing, paper-mâché crafts, basic massage, soap-making, bakery, etc.
The products are handcrafted by our vocational trainees as part of their skills development program, and all proceeds from their sale directly support the education and training of visually impaired individuals at the Blind Relief Association, Delhi.
Founded in 1944, the Blind Relief Association is a dedicated organization that has been tirelessly working to empower persons with visual impairments, a mission it has steadfastly held for the past 80 years.
